Our target

HW Tree Service LLC aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA on this website. That standard is what we build and test against.

What that means here

  • Every page uses real headings in order, so screen reader users can navigate by structure instead of guessing.
  • Body text, headings, buttons, and form labels all meet or exceed the AA contrast minimum, in both light and dark mode.
  • Everything you can do with a mouse you can do with a keyboard, and the focused element is always visibly outlined.
  • A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content.
  • Every photograph carries alt text describing what is in it. Decorative images are marked so screen readers pass over them.
  • Form fields have visible labels above them, not placeholder text pretending to be a label, and every field's help text is linked to the field itself.
  • Tap targets are at least 48 by 48 pixels, which matters when you are using this site outdoors on a phone.
  • Text reflows down to a 320 pixel viewport and can be zoomed to 200 percent without breaking the layout.
  • The one animation on this site is a fade as sections scroll into view. If your device asks for reduced motion, it does not run at all.

No accessibility overlay

This site does not use an accessibility overlay, widget, or toolbar. Those products frequently interfere with the screen readers and browser settings people already use, and they do not fix the underlying markup. We build the page correctly instead.

Known limits

This site is tested with keyboard navigation, browser zoom, and both light and dark system themes. It has not been tested against every combination of browser and assistive technology in existence. If you hit something that does not work, that is useful information and we would like to have it.

Tell us about a problem

Call (706) 968-8951. Tell us which page you were on and what happened. If the website is the thing in your way, call us and we will take care of your tree work over the phone. You should never need this website to hire us.

Third-party content

The quote request form is delivered by Web3Forms. We do not control that provider's own systems, though the form itself, as it appears on this site, is ours and is built to the standard above.
