View clearing
A view is not made by clearing everything. It is made by taking out the specific trees and limbs that block the water or the ridge line, and leaving the ones that hold the bank and frame the property.
What this covers
- Selective limb and tree removal to open a lake or ridge line.

What gets taken and what stays
- Look from where you sit. The view that matters is the one from the deck, the porch, or the kitchen window, not from the middle of the yard.
- Take what blocks. Usually far fewer trees than people expect. Often it is limbs rather than whole trees.
- Leave what holds. On a lakefront lot the trees on the bank are doing structural work. Taking those out to gain a few degrees of water is a bad trade.
- Leave what frames. A view with nothing around it looks like a clearing. The trees left standing are what make it look like a view.
Where we work
Based in Clayton. Most of the work is in Rabun County and around Lake Burton and Lake Rabun, and we travel up to about two hours out for the right job. Common questions
Will you clear my whole lot?
That is generally not what makes a view better, and it is not what we recommend on a lakefront lot. The trees on the bank hold it together. Selective removal usually opens more water for far fewer trees.
Can you top my trees instead?
Topping is not the same as view clearing and it damages the tree. It forces weak regrowth that fails later. Selective limb removal and taking out the specific trees in the way is the durable version.
